Parenting Fundamentals program celebrates parent graduates
Our Parenting Fundamentals program hosted an appreciation event at the Midway Learning & Wellness Center to celebrate the conclusion of the most recent session of its Parent Leadership Program.
Parents ate, laughed, and shared beautiful testimonials of how Parenting Fundamentals has changed their lives, allowed them to move out of their comfort zones, and become better at parenting.
Parenting Fundamentals Educator CJ Pruitt says, “Although I was on fumes, having pulled an all-nighter with the table top confetti decorations and handcrafting the favors, seeing those parents come to the event gave me that second jolt of energy to finish with a BANG — parents were still discussing how wonderful the event was upon attending the Englewood Community Action Council meeting that evening!”
Since 2015, Parenting Fundamentals has empowered 386 parents in the Greater Englewood and Greater Roseland communities. CJ credits a strong network of community partners for the program’s success thus far: “We want to say THANK YOU for allowing us to come into your schools, Parent University centers, community rooms, attics and even church basements,” she says.
