Mpower the Night Raises $1.2 Million

This year’s Mpower the Night – 2014 Holiday Celebration, held November 15 at the Fairmont Chicago, raised $1.2 million to support Metropolitan Family Services’ programs and services.

600 guests attended the bash, emceed by Judy Hsu, Co-Anchor of “ABC 7 Eyewitness News This Morning.” Retired Deloitte Partner and longtime Metropolitan Board Member Eileen Scudder, and her husband, Russell Zimmermann, were honored for their dedication and generosity in supporting Metropolitan Family Services’ mission of Mpowering families.

Guests fueled excitement by Tweeting photos and event happenings with the hashtag #MpowertheNight, which was the 12th highest trending topic in Chicago that night. The Sammie Torres and Friends Ensemble heated things up with a variety of favorites and Salsa, while youth band Jamiah On Fire & The Red Machine brought the Blues. The night also included auction wins including trips to Tuscany and Mexico, and a wine raffle of select vintages culminating in a Grand Prize of 50 bottles.

For those who would like to help support Metropolitan and the 67,000 individuals and families it serves, year-end donations can be made via Metropolitan’s website.

Metropolitan Family Services thanks Event Chair Byron Spruell, the Host Committee, all sponsors and guests for making this fundraising event possible. Visit metrofamily.org for more and view pictures here.
