Domestic Violence & Human Trafficking training educates staff, police
Our Midway Center staff and area police officers learned about the intersectionality of Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking, in an info session facilitated by Metropolitan’s own Micaela Garrido, Outreach Coordinator with the Legal Aid Society’s Human Trafficking Initiative.
Metropolitan Midway’s Domestic Violence Counseling program collaborated with Chicago Police Department’s 6th District Domestic Violence Subcommittee on the training, part of our Domestic Violence Awareness Month activities.
The presentation was a success; the staff and police officers in attendance asked great questions about the information in the training.
Metropolitan Midway’s Domestic Violence Counseling program helps abused individuals find strength, resources and opportunities to maximize safety for themselves and their families.
