5K Summer Dash to Support After-School Programs
WHAT & WHO:
Metropolitan Family Services’ Midway Center invites youth and families to take part in the third annual 5K Summer Dash! Runners and walkers are welcome. Proceeds will benefit summer Community Schools programs coordinated by Metropolitan’s Midway Center, benefitting programs at partner schools located on Chicago’s Southwest Side.
The event will include an awards ceremony and a celebratory dance off near the finish line. Sparky from the Chicago Fire will be among those cheering on the participants.
Community Schools act as hubs for their communities, providing resources and support for families and bringing community assets to the school. Community Schools programs include academic support and enrichment, health and wellness resources, and opportunities for parent education, engagement and leadership.
Onsite registration is $30 (cash only).
