Young Professionals Raise $130K for Families in Need at metropolis
This summer, it’s all about philanthropic fun for a cause! Guests including Ben Bradley of ABC News, Jim Oberweis of Oberweis Asset Management, LLC, and members of the Duchossois family were among 450 guests at metropolis, a summer bash and fundraiser for young professionals which raised more than $130,000 to benefit Metropolitan Family Services.
The event, presented by Metropolitan’s Metro Board and held at Galleria Marchetti, featured dancing, cocktails and raffle items including the WXRT-FM Live From Studio X concert series, VIP tickets to the Kentucky Derby and a private dinner cruise on Lake Michigan.
“It’s amazing to see everyone enjoying themselves so much, especially when they are benefiting such an important organization,” said event co-chair Erich Struckmeyer. “Metropolitan Family Services has been around for more than 150 years, and tonight proves that a new generation is excited to support its mission for many years to come.”
Proceeds from metropolis benefit Metropolitan Family Services’ programs and services, including the Healthy Families Program. Healthy Families supports first-time pregnant teens and young mothers aged 12-24 at risk for future child abuse or neglect.
