Week of the Young Child: Artsy Thursday
WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD: ARTSY THURSDAY
Think, problem solve, create! Children develop creativity, social skills and fine motor skills with open-ended art projects where they can make choices, use their imaginations, and create with their hands. On Artsy Thursday celebrate the joy and learning children experience when engaged in creative art making.
What does Artsy Thursday look like across our Early Learning programs?
DuPage
Wacky Clothes or Hair Day! Our kids, dressed in their wackiest most mismatched clothes, used mirrors to create self-portraits. They also created masterpieces with colored shaving cream, expressing themselves through art.
Midway Children’s Center
The art of the dance! Our parents and teachers joined kids for Zumba classes throughout the day, sporting workout and dance clothes. We also used our imaginations to create banners for Friday’s Week of the Young Child parade.
North Children’s Center
Slime, anyone? Our parents joined in the fun as we explored with slime and decorating clothes.
