Oh, baby! Walgreens and Huggies partner to donate funds & diapers to Cradles to Crayons, benefiting Metropolitan families

In a grand slam of a collaboration, Walgreens and Huggies are teaming up with former Cubs catcher David Ross to help families in need around the country – Metropolitan’s North Center included!

Walgreens and Huggies partnered to donate $10,000, 250,000 wipes and 1.5 million diapers to the National Diaper Bank Network. Of that donation, 250,000 diapers are already set to help families in Chicago thanks to Cradles to Crayons, an excellent partner of Metropolitan providing goods to our youngest clients, aged 0-12.

Huggies and Cradles to Crayons recently hosted an event to highlight this generous donation and the impact it makes on families like those Metropolitan serves – two of which attended the event to speak about the value of a diaper donation in their lives.

Yesenia, introduced to Cradles to Crayons at the end of her most recent pregnancy, has been receiving diapers since her youngest son was born: “I have 3 boys, aged 10 months to 10 years. I have a lot of mouths to fees and limited funds, so it means making choices. If I didn’t have these diapers, my son would stay in his diaper longer than I would like.”

Thank you Walgreens, Huggies, Cradles to Crayons, and David Ross!

Since 1982, Metropolitan Family Services North Center has been helping families navigate life’s obstacles while growing and changing with the communities it serves on Chicago’s Northwest Side.
