State of OUR State Rally on Jan. 27 in Springfield
Metropolitan Family Services will join numerous human services agencies for the “State of OUR State” Rally taking place at 11 a.m. on Wed., January 27, 2016 at the Illinois State Capitol in Springfield.
The rally, organized by the Responsible Budget Coalition, is designed to show Governor Bruce Rauner and state legislators why funding human services is critical, and will take place before the governor delivers his State of the State Address that Wednesday at noon.
With Illinois now seven months without a budget, human services providers are being forced to cut services, reduce staff, and in some cases shut their doors. Families and communities cannot continue to be held hostage while lawmakers fail to pass a budget.
For those who cannot make it to Springfield but want to show support, they can call the Governor’s office, 312-814-2121, or contact their representatives.
