North Center staff fills backpacks with inspiring messages

Led by Office Assistant Joyce Quezada, our North Center and North Children’s Center staff wrote (and colored, and put stickers on) nearly 1,000 inspiring messages to put inside a recent donation of backpacks from Cradles 2 Crayons.

Did you know? Cradles 2 Crayons’s inspiring notes idea came from Metropolitan’s own Monica Colfax, Site Operations Manager at the North Center. When Monica was a Resource Coordinator in our Community Schools program and received donations from Cradles 2 Crayons, she had the kids write inspiring notes on index cards to put in “kid packs” for other kids. Cradles 2 Crayons loved it so much, they’ve incorporated this in their volunteer efforts.
