LAS Board Member Tianne Bataille Earns Recognition
Legal Aid Society of Metropolitan Family Services Board member Tianne Bataille was chosen as the May 2013 Volunteer of the Month by Illinois Legal Aid Online. Watch this video posted to the Illinois Legal Aid Online’s YouTube Channel to hear more about Tianne’s work and why she was chosen.
“Tianne performs outstanding work on behalf of our clients, our agency and the cause of equal access to justice,” said Kendra Reinshagen, Executive Director of the Legal Aid Society. “This is a well deserved recognition.”
Tianne has been on the Legal Aid Society of Metropolitan Family Services Board since 2008 and has spearheaded the agency’s ATLASST (Attorneys Tendering Legal Aid to Survivors of Sex Trafficking) program. ATLASST focuses on utilizing civil litigation on behalf of sex trafficking victims. The program provides pro bono legal services to survivors of sex trafficking and connects them with the necessary social services to help them recover and rebuild their lives.
Illinois Legal Aid Online develops technology and information to increase access to justice for Illinois residents. Each month the organization highlights a member of the legal aid community who is doing exemplary work.
“I love to volunteer,” Tianne says in the video. “Really where I get my satisfaction is when I know I’m making a difference in someone’s life.”
