Free Seminar on Sept. 7 Helps Vets Adjust to Civilian Life
Metropolitan Family Services, a leading provider of human services to low-income families throughout the Chicago area, is holding a free seminar for veterans, their families, and anyone who serves veterans. “The Short & Long-Term Challenges of Readjustment for Returning Military Service Members,” will be held Friday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Metropolitan Family Services Southeast Chicago Center, 3062 E. 91st St., Chicago.
The seminar will feature speakers from the Department of Veterans Affairs at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, and will address issues many returning soldiers and their families face. Topics include re-integration into civilian life, re-connecting with a spouse and family, and emotional and economic challenges.
