Segun Salami serves as an Attorney with the Communities Partnering for Peace (CP4P) Justice Corps of the Legal Aid Society (LAS). In this role, Segun provides legal advice and representation to clients who are part of our CP4P and Metropolitan Peace Academy (MPA) initiatives in legal matters related to racial justice, criminal records relief, housing, domestic violence, human trafficking, wage theft, family law, and other civil legal areas of law.

Prior to this role, Segun worked as an intern and volunteer with the Center for Disability and Elder Law (CDEL) drafting wills, Power of Attorney documents, and providing direct and brief services to the elderly and people with disabilities. Segun was also a Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) Intern and a 711 licensed intern with the Chicago Legal Clinic (CLC) Municipal Advice Desk Referral Project assisting low-income individuals with issues including landlord/ tenant, collection, contract disputes, and torts. Segun also worked at the Illinois Appellate court editing appellate rulings of civil and criminal cases for compliance with current legal and procedural standards. During his last year of law school, Segun served as a law clerk gaining experience in personal injury and professional liability law.

Segun received his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in 2020 and his
Bachelor of Science in Finance from Saint Cloud State University in 2016.
