Liz Homsy serves as Supervising Attorney for the Communities Partnering for Peace (CP4P) Justice Corps of the Legal Aid Society of Metropolitan Family Services. She is thrilled to be a member of this dynamic team because she strongly believes in the core mission of addressing the variety of legal issues our most vulnerable communities face, and providing more comprehensive and holistic legal support to our city.
Before joining LAS, she served in a variety of community-oriented legal spaces, working as a member of the Protester Mass Defense team at the National Lawyers Guild; as a Volunteer Asylum Attorney for the National Immigrant Justice Center; as a board member for the Womxn Project, a group targeting legislation beneficial for cis- and trans- women from all communities and economic backgrounds; and more. She has also worked in criminal defense, landlord-tenant disputes, election law (and equal ballot access for all Chicago’s citizens), and civil rights over the course of her career.
Liz received her Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois at Chicago John Marshall Law School in 2011, and her Bachelor of Arts in English and Revolutionary History from Connecticut College in 2004.
