DuPage Community Leaders Don and Joyce Ursin to be Honored at DuPage Gala
DuPage County leaders Don and Joyce Ursin will be honored for their many years of community service at Metropolitan Family Services’ DuPage Gala, taking place Friday, May 7, 2010 at Bobak’s Signature Events at Seven Bridges in Woodridge, Ill.
The Gala will present the Ursins with the Roger K. Johnson Award, which recognizes individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to families and communities served by Metropolitan Family Services DuPage.
Don Ursin has had a tremendous impact on the DuPage community, serving as a Metropolitan DuPage Board Member from 1987 to 1996 and holding the position of Board Chair in 1991. He continues his commitment to DuPage families through serving on Metropolitan DuPage’s Associate Board, and he has held leadership roles with other notable DuPage community organizations including Lutheran Social Services of Illinois, United Way, YMCA Glen Ellyn and Community Housing of DuPage (CHAD), among many others.
In addition honoring the Ursins, the DuPage Gala will feature dinner and dancing with music by the Elmhurst College Jazz Band and Strings of Silk, live and silent auctions, a champagne raffle and a heads and tails raffle.
Tickets are $150 per person. To purchase tickets please click here. Proceeds will benefit Metropolitan Family Services DuPage, which helps families restore balance in their lives and achieve economic stability; offers youth mentoring; counsels parents, children and seniors; and provides respite to family caregivers.
