Calumet Center convenes Black Male Summit
Metropolitan Family Services Calumet Center and Roseland Community Collaboration and Resident Empowerment (CCRE) recently convened its Black Male Summit, inviting thought leaders who are providing services or have provided services to Black men for the purpose of discussing trauma, violence, and trauma’s relationship to violence among Black men.
Attendees represented a number of organizations including Youth Advocate Programs, DuSable County Collaborative, Fathers Families and Healthy Communities, Family Focus, and 100 Black Men of Chicago.
The goal of the summit was to engage in dialogue about the state of Black men in Chicago and how to leverage our resources and networks to help reduce violence. In addition to serving as a think tank for those who are looking providing resources to assist in reducing violence among Black men and boys in Chicago.
