Richard Jones
Richard L. Jones, Ph.D. currently serves as President and CEO for Metropolitan Family Services, one of the largest private human service agencies in Chicago, Illinois. Previously, Dr. Jones served as President of the Center for Families and Children in Cleveland, Ohio and Executive Director of Boston Children’s Services in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Jones completed his Master’s and Ph.D. in Social Work Administration from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences of Case Western Reserve University. Previous leadership responsibilities have included serving on the Board of Directors of Leadership Cleveland and the Cleveland United Way; co-chairing the International Year of the Family; and serving as chair of the Commission on Chemical Dependency and Child Welfare for the Child Welfare League of America. Metropolitan Family Services was recipient of Bank of America’s Neighborhood Builders Award in 2006 and was presented the Alford-Axelson Nonprofit Managerial Excellence Award in 2007 by North Park University.

 

Dr. Jones was presented the Leadership in Nonprofit Management Award by Case Western Reserve University in 1997; the Outstanding Alumni Award by the Mandel School of Applied Social Services of Case Western Reserve University in 1998; and a fellowship award to the Harvard Business School in 2005. He has also served as a lecturer on nonprofit management at North Park University and in Nicaragua and Kenya. He is also the immediate past Chairman for the Alliance for Children & Families Board of Directors.

 

Currently, Dr. Jones serves as a member of the Board of Advisors for the School of Social Work at Bryn Mawr College; as a member of the Chicago Alliance for Collaborative Effort (CACE); and Chairman of the NASW Assurance Services Board of Trustees; and member of the Board of Directors of Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago.
