Who We Are

For more than 150 years Metropolitan Family Services has been a voice for families. With compassionate counsel and services for families struggling to overcome incredible challenges, Metropolitan makes a difference in their lives and provides hope for their future. From early childhood programs to elder care services, every family member is encouraged to work together to realize their amazing strength.

Who We Serve

Close to 55,000 families and individuals receive counseling and other supportive services that build on their strengths and capabilities. Hundreds of thousands more benefit from Metropolitan’s public policy and advocacy efforts.

Caring Staff

We offer a wide variety of services through our staff, which includes licensed clinical social workers and counselors, case managers, mental health professionals, early childhood educators and lawyers.

Funding

Funding comes from various sources including individuals; businesses; foundations; local, state and federal government agencies; schools; the United Way; and program service fees.

At least 80 cents of every dollar Metropolitan Family Services receives is spent on direct client services.

Fees are assessed on the basis of income and family size.  No one is denied service because of inability to pay. Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance may cover full or partial service costs.
